NYC for 4 nights - Should I split up my stay between two hotels
Going to New york City in April. There are so many hotel choices. I was thinking of splitting up my stay between two hotels. Stay the first two nights at a more economical hotel and the last two at a more luxury hotel. Has anyone every done this before? Would it be too much of a hassle to switch hotels? Also need some suggestions on which hotels. Thanks

You would spend too much time checking in/out/changing locations/packing/unpacking! Better idea....stay in one hotel for 4 nights then come back to NYC and stay in the other hotel! The Plaza Athene, the Soho Grand and the Mercer are my favorites, all NYers have their favorite hotels, and we are happy to tell you which one you MUST stay in

Would certainly not bother switching hotels. In New York most of the time is spent out of your hotel room so I wouldn't splurge here (although if you can afford it the Four Seasons is one of the best anywhere). Try the W Tuscany where it's very nice and the rooms are large, with great linen. The suites are huge so there's place to lounge for 4 days. It's a bit out of the main drag, near Grand Central Station, but a good choice that balances economy and luxury.

Hi,
Just returned fr; NYC, please don't bother in switching hotels. You spend so little time in them because there is so so much to do there. Spend you time sightseeing rather than the hassled of packing and unpacking. Also, if you get a good clean place, that's is great. You will spend so much money on eating and paying for other things, save you dollars on that. What matters abt hotel is location, location location, it's everything.
