NYC Corporate Housing/Executive Hotels
My wife and I are considering an extended stay in Manhattan. We'd like to look into short-term (months) furnished apartments or executive hotels.
Anyone have any suggestions? Web sites would be most helpful.
Thanks

After researching this myself for about a year and checking out a number of them in person, we ended up staying for the full month of May at The Allen House at the corner of 71st and 3rd Avenue. This is a small (about 18 units) brownstone apartment building which the owners have been converting unit by unit as they are vacated for corporate housing. Each apartment (studios to 2 bedrooms with 2 baths) is individually designer decorated and feels like a live in apartment, not a hotel. We paid $4600 for the full month (also there is no tax on it as it is not a hotel). Unfortunately (or not) they do no advertising and don't have a website. We rented blindly on the recommendation of a friend of a friend and were totally happy. We would now like to return there for a month each year. Their phone number is 212-794-1110. The manager is Marion who will give you any information you might want. It was our first stay in NYC not in the theatre district and we loved the area -- very upscale and "neighborhood" with great restaurants all around and the super "Grace's Market" right downstairs with the greatest carry out foods you could ever want if you prefer to eat in or to prepare your own.

You might think about subleasing an apartment if you are going to be here over the summer months. There are always apartments available for sublease.
Also check into the Shellbourn Hotel which is corp long term and it's a great location on Lexington in the upper 30-'s.
I would suggest getting New York Times or the Village Voice for more listings.
