NY Theater District/dinner after a 2pm Sat. matinee
We're driving into Manhattan for the day (a Saturday in Oct.) and have tix for a 2pm matinee. Could anyone recommend a moderate price restaurant near Belasco Theater (BTW...has anyone seen "Frankie & Johnny"?).
We've enjoyed dining at La Madeleine recently. La Madeleine menu prices are in the ballpark.

The Belasco Theater is on West 44th, between 6th and 7th Avenues. How near is "near"? I ask because there aren't that many restaurants to recommend within a block or two of the theater. If you like ribs, try Virgil's, which is on the same block as the theater.
You have many other options if you cross to the other side of Times Square. For example, Becco (on West 46th between 8th and 9th Avenues) is five blocks away.

Beccos is a favorite of my teenage boys, lots to eat and great value. Food, the pasta specials are very good. My favorite is Carmines in the theater district, they take reservations for 2 up until 6 pm. THe wait is a kick just for people watching. great food, too.

Thanks for recommending Becco; completely forgot about that!
Note to Howard: you sent me a few names already! Does Bryant Park Grill serve really early Sat. dinner?(thanks to you, it's now one of our brunch favorites!) We don't mind walking. Depends on where we park the car!
