NY-Special Restaurant deal Oct 15-21
If you're here this week-this is really a rare opportunity at the best time of year:
at nycvisit.com there is a list of (good)restaurants offering a $20.01 lunch and/or a 30.01 DINNER (this has never been done before) the week of October 15-21.

NY traditionally has restaurant week, where certain restaurants have prix fixe menus of $whatever year it is. However, they've never had dinners offered before, so it is a pretty big deal, especially since some (not all) of the places are very expensive.

Restaurant Week is usually in June (as it was this past year) and, I think In January. This is a a last minute (announced a week or so ago??) push for the restaurant industry and yes it's unusual (and very welcome ) that dinner is included at some.
Here's an embarrassing question: I'm a native New Yorker, yet I've never eaten at most of these restaurants particularly those below 14th street (what can I say, I'm an uptown girl). I'd like to spend some of my money at those Soho/Tribeca places that might need it most. Which of the restauranst offering DINNER (can't get downtown at lunchtime) would be YOUR choice (I like most anything but seafood) Thanks!

Andrea:
I left my list at the office, but there were many downtown restaurants I'd recommend (having worked in Tribeca and then, of late, at WTC): Fleur del Sol (tapas on Greenwich), Nobu next door (fancy seafood -- oops, did you say you don't eat seafood?), Chanterelle (french), Capsuto Freres (one of my personal faves -- French) and Alison on Dominick (the one I plan to sample).
Enjoy!
