I didn't see anything wrong with the FFRR thread...but I didn't see the last posts either. Regardless...at least this thread is thoroughly entertaining

Just to keep this travel related...found out today that our rooms tomorrow have been personally seen to by a certain person at the hotel. So, can't wait to arrive and see how lovely they are!

SeetheWorld,
Thanks for the link...I wonder if IEP direct is similiar to the computerized programs we use for special ed here in Georgia called Tranquility. I must say though the Tranquility people could NEVER claim to have 100% satisfaction--we are anything but tranquil when using it. Our system has glitches and isn't always user friendly. That being said, its a helluva lot easier than when we did all this stuff by hand!!

Where in NY do you teach? I am a product of Ramapo Central Schools (Suffern) in Rockland Co.

Does anyone remember the Sylvester cartoon where Elmer Fudd and Sylvester spend the night in a haunted house and the mice are terrorizing Sylvester? Where the mice stand on each others shoulders and throw a sheet over themselves to make them look like a ghost?

I think the ghost was wafting.

Wafting wafishly through lofts.

OWJ--thanks ds is doing fine...running all over the neighborhood with his friends and running track, and runs with dh. So he seems totally fine. We still don't know anything really. Two totally different opinions...and waiting on the 3rd. I am coping much better. DH flew home early on Friday after being away for all of this. Girlfriends came down from Seattle and we did a girls weekend and it was just what I needed (well, maybe minus some of the alcohol, lol!). So hoping to hear something by tomorrow or so and see where we go from there.

Hi mms, I was happy to see your post, since the R&R had been deleted.

You and your family are still in my thoughts too. Wishing you all nothing but the very best of news. Take good care. And I am glad you had time with your friends. That is good.

MMS,
Aren't friends just the best?? And what's a little booze? Put a little fruit juice in it and you're hitting several food groups. Liquid diets--love 'em

All joking aside, I do hope tomorrow brings good news and a huge sigh of relief.

I'll be thinking about you guys,
OWJ

Hi OWJ! I live in Westchester County -- not too far from Rockland County. I teach in a large district that is a cross between a suburban and urban setting with a diverse population of learners (many second language learners).

Tranquility, huh? Nothing about special education is tranquil, lol! But working with high needs students is a very fulfilling profession.

Ah Scarlett~to waft through a loft dressed in black looking like someone other than a sicilian widow sounds like a dream for me

I am still thinking about that Jo Malone facial as our trip to NYC draws nigh. Good luck with the move! And do remember should you spy, a rainbow icon in Portland, run for your life!!

One of my dearest friends lives in SW Portland(up near Strohecker's). He had a wonderful brown standard poodle I referred to as my "god dog"(RIP). Poodles love Portland!

MMS~I missed what's happening with your son. I do hope all goes well. Kids bounce,it's true!

May next Friday's R&Rs survive the editors.

Pam--DS is being checked for lymphoma. Its been a living h*** for the last couple weeks. Still getting more opinions though and right now we may head down to SF for another.

I have nothing but positive thoughts and hopes for a good outcome mms.
And for your Pup too!

A realtor looked at our house to buy for himself.
He has just called and wants to come back for a second look with his contractor pal.
Fingers crossed...I am anxious to pack up and drive for days and days and ..... to Portland!!
