Why is that no one sees senior discounts as a form of age discrimination? Isn't it illegal to base offers on age?

Plain and simple, seniors in the US have become a bunch of whiners.

If senior discounts are a form of age discrimination, what do you think about discounts for children for movies, etc. Furthermore, age discrimination only applies to governmental activities. There is no such prohibition for private enterprises. Think before you post.

Oh, really, xyx? So age discrimination is limited to "governmental activities"?

So, if I'm running a (privately owned) restaurant, and refuse to hire an 85-year-old man as a waiter, I guess I'm running a "governmental activity" 'cause I can be fined and even closed down. Or how 'bout a if I charge seniors 10% more? Same thing -- fine and closure.

No one is "entitled" to a discount. If one is offered, fine,consider yourself lucky. If full price is the only option then pay up like everyone else.

Someone needs to teach x the meaning of "parody." You see, x, you said something dumb and then told y to think before he posted. Then he pointed out how dumb you were are parodied your "think" comment, and then...ah, never mind. You wouldn't understand.
