I just made a reservation there for our anniversary night, Dec 2, for 5:30 just as the sunset is starting, so we will be there for both sunset & after, we haven't ever ate there before so hopefully someone who has will be able to help more.

Like j12 says: both. If you plan to be seated about 30-45 minutes before dark, you can enjoy the entire sunset from your table, watch the tiki torch lighting ceremony, and then linger a bit over dessert after dark. Just make sure you reserve a seat outside.

I totally agree with "sap"! You've got to be there for sunset!!! You just can't imagine what a beautiful setting it is. The tiki torch lighting guy was awesome & so much fun. Although he's obviously in a bit of a hurry, he took the time to pose for us all while we snapped pictures. So much fun!!!
You didn't mention when you're going but if you've got a little time before you go, make sure you reserve an outside table & specify "oceanfront" - ours was amazing and the envy of all!
Think about trying their flaming strawberry dessert - it's quite a show and sooooo delicious! Enjoy!
