Newport: Restaurants & Recreation
My husband and I are staying in Newport for 2 nights in early Oct and would like some really good restaurant recommendations...we looked on-line at 22bowens, The West Deck and The Mooring? Any opinions or other recommendations?
Also, for activities: what are some things that we should not miss? We would like to see mansions and go out on a sailboat tour. Anything advice?
Thank you!

To add to Michelle's list:
Brick Alley, Red Parrot, Fifth Element
Rhumbline, A&O Fish House, H20...
Early October there will still be some boats offering sailings. Walk the Cliff Walk if the weather is nice...drive along Ocean Drive.

Had an unbelievably great meal at Clarke Cooke House last week.
The "Candy Store" area downstairs has a more causal feel and menu, but upstairs on "the Porch" is elegant and beautiful. Over looks the harbor and is delicious but expensive, it's a meal to splurge on. The Ravioli of Lobster and Wild Mushroom with leeks, morels, and beurre de champignon was one of the best first courses I have ever eaten!
