B&Bs almost always require 2 nights, FYI.

You will DEFINITELY have a hard time booking 1 night only at a B&B in Newport, Rhode Island. Either stay 2 nights, or stay at the Howard Johnsons a couple of blocks away in Middletown, RD. It sounds cheesy, but it was just renovated and is extremely nice, with an indoor pool and hot tub. Also, check out www.oso.com--rhode isl.'s online website.

Well, assuming you are talking about Newport RI and are going soon (off-season) and not on a holiday weekend (i.e. Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years), I can offer some advice. You want a 1 night at a bed and breakfast, But WHICH night are you thinking of? If you are thinking of a Friday or Saturday it will be hard to book in advance (but you can try showing up on a Saturday afternoon to see if they have anything available- this time of year, I bet quite a few B&Bs do). However, if you are considering a weekday (except Friday) I think most B&Bs in Newport would be glad to reserve a room for you; this time of year they have very little weekday guests.
