NYNY is fine, not luxurious but one of the newer theme resorts, a decent location within walking distance of the center strip hotels like Bellagio. We stayed there 2 years ago because we had a teen with us and the price was reasonable. Lots of activity and hustle and bustle. The pool was average to below average if that is important. If you are looking for luxury or top of the line it is not NYNY.

Kathy: NYNY is an ok property. When you checkin though request a room as far away from the roller coaster as you can. I have heard lots of complaints about the noise factor. Not sure if their pool is heated, if not it will probably be too cool for swimming.

Took my daughter to Vegas last Thanksgiving. It was her first trip there and we stayed at NYNY. We loved it. We thought it was very cleverly done and the restaurants were really good. We went through most of the hotels on the strip and would not have traded ours with any of the others. Can't report on the pool because we did not even go there. Too cold in November and I can't imagine that anyone goes to Vegas for the hotel pool. Just my opinion. I would definitely stay there again.

Puleeeeze Melinda! Wouldn't we all stay at the Venetian or the Bellagio if we had $300/night to blow on a hotel? The NYNY is under $100, and a very good value for it.
I stayed there a few years ago; there isn't anything special about the rooms, but the hotel was a really neat idea and well done.

Dear "not another one": Bellagio often has rates less thanhalf what you quoted.
In fact, I just got a mailer from them yesterday and the "Deluxe rooms" are $99.00 from 11/18/01 thru 2/7/02 Sunday thru Thursday!!
So if you have a chip on your shoulder about the cost, perhaps you should try it out and see what it's like! I doubt you'll be singing the same tune afterward!

Yes for the same price range I do prefer Monte Carlo too.
But that being said Venetian and Bellagio have been running some great rates lately in the $100 and under sometimes range.
As long as you are onthe strip in the middle of the action and NOT at Harrahs, Imeperial Palace or Tropicana you have done well. YOu are close to Mandalay Bay and Luxor and can utilize the trams to get all over.
Have a wonderful trip and WIN BIG!!!

In response to "oh Please." I always use my real web address and I was making the Bellagio and Venetian suggestion as rates are very low now as the above poster mentioned. We were in Vegas the fist part of Oct and stayed at the Bellagio for $99 weekday and $119 weekends. I think attacking me for spending more money to stay at the upscale properties is crazy as some people come to Vegas and drop much more money in the casinos. I prefer to put my money in my choice of hotel rather than on the casino black jack table. Sorry I hit a sensitive nerve as I really love being able to post and learn so much on this site.
