Looking for suggestions....
Ideas on Events going on during this time period? I am interested in going to some Yoga Studios and Holistic Spas. I would like to explore some off the beaten path areas that are artsy! As far as shopping I have done the whole 5th ave thing and am looking for more Boutique one of a kind clothing shops. Are there any good Markets? I love Elizabeth Street and Mercer Street in Soho! Any suggestions much appreciated! Thanks!

Hi tuleppy! Yoga studios, spas, and boutique shopping...all supremely fun things. I personally think Exhale Spa would fit your yoga/spa requirements. They also do a great "Core Fusion" class, if you want to mix things up a bit. Juvenex is a lovely, less expensive spa in Little Korea. Saunas, steam rooms, dipping pools, and treatments. I also love Bliss Spa, although the emphasis isn't so much on holistic treatments, but it is really pampering and I like their cheeky not-so-serious vibe.

As for boutique shopping, I think Nolita is the king of that. Everything around Elizabeth and Mott St. or Broome St. (on the other side of Broadway from SoHo). The Lower East Side also has lots of cool vintage clothing spots along Orchard and Ludlow Sts. And for more high end brands (Catherine Malandrino, Jeffrey) hit the Meatpacking District. Especially the end of W14th St and down Washington or Hudson St. Have fun!!

Some of the beaten paths have good artsy stuf as well.

Go to 529 West 20th Street and start at the top floor and walk down, each floor has at least one art gallery

Other addresses include 525 W 26, and many on the 500 Streets from West 19 through Wast 26.

There are lots of markets depending on what you want. There are flea markets in Brooklyn on weekends. Edge NY in Noho can be fun but their website isn't working so not sure if they're still there. http://cityvoter.com/edgenynoho-65-b...0012/loc/37644

Nolita is wonderful. I especially like Tracy Feith and forget which street it's on, it's just south of Spring Street.

Another boutique area is 9th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues, which is just the most densely storefronted of several good shopping blocks around there - 7th St from 2nd Ave to Ave A is nice, 8th St from 1st to A, and 9th St from 2nd all the way to A.

Eat at Veselka, on 9th St and 2nd Avenue, 24 hours, or Dumpling Man on 8th St (St Marks Place) between 1st and A, where you can see fresh Chinese dumplings being made by nice Chinese ladies.
