New York City TV shows

Can anyone get tickets to the TV talk shows being taped in NYC by just showing up? Or do you have to order them waaaaay in advance?

It is possible to get them last minute to Dave Letterman but you must go to his or CBS's website and sign up. I've heard you can sometimes luck out and get them to SNL by waiting in line early Saturday morning.

Is there a website to look for the shows that are taped in NYC? Thanks.

Thanks to an "insider" I got Letterman tickets and it was a great time. My first request was SNL but was told that it was a much tougher ticket, and the chances of getting one by waiting in line Sat. morning would be equal to hitting the lottery.

Beatle, I'm confused. Are you saying there are several hundred million people standing in line for the SNL tickets? That must be quite a line.

There are fewer people lining up for SNL tix, but also fewer prizes given out. A few dozen seats, about 20 times per year. (The rest of the seats go to friends, family, etc., there are very few seats for random general public.)

Patrick- no, nothing to do with the length of the line. As anon said, few seats are available- not that you can't get lucky, but it's a tough ticket!

Are kids allowed at any of these tapings?

The ones I know about (SNL and Letterman) are very strict about only allowing people over 18. Think about when you see the audience when you watch the shows -- no kids.
