New York City Off Season?

I live here, but I wondered if there is an off season here in New York for tourism, especially for hotels. I'm planning my wedding and looking for a time that may be cheaper.

Thanks for your help!

Typically for weddings August is also considered low season.

August is now the second busiest month after June.
November, January, March and April are considered off season for wedding in NY

If you're thinking of having an outdoor service or reception, in some of the scenic areas the time period between Labor Day and when the leaves begin to turn (typically late Sept to early or mid Oct) may be a bit cheaper than the summer months.

Not exactly the answer to your question, but Friday and Saturday nights from Memorial Day to Labor Day can be the "off-season" for some of the better restaurants. With the exodus to the beach that tends to occur each weekend, getting a table can be easier during the summer months.

ryan-ssshhhhhhhhhh!
That is the best part about everyone having houses at the beach,we can go anywhere in the city on weekends without the fuss of lines and waiting..
I have heard that the end of summer/fall are now the favorite times for weddings.

Wow, fantastic responses! I know that nationally June and August are more popular and January and November are least.

That's very true about restaurants in the summer. I look forward to Memorial Day when everyone will leave town!

Thanks again!
