Sidestep.com has been the best site for me so far. You have to download their software though. No big deal. You'll be happy you did!

A Hospitality House has great apartments all over manhattan from studios to 3 bedrooms.......they are very reasonable and very comfortable and convienient.my family stayed in one of their locatations and we loved it.

Quickbook offers hotels in many different cities, while Express Reservations works only in NY & LA.

I've been to NYC twice in the last year. The first time we got a great last-minute rate thru travelweb.com at the Parker Meridien, across the street from Carnegie Hall--I think $175/night.

Just this week we stayed at the Crowne Plaza on Broadway, courtesy of hoteldiscounts.com. Rate was $199/night the first night and $239/night the second.

I recommend doing your research online and then calling the service's toll-free number so you can go over details w/a human.
