New Year's Eve Restaurant in San Francisco
My wife and I will be in this city for a Dec.31 concert to bring in the new year - finding many of the 'trendy' restaurants already booked solid (eg. Nopa, Zuni, Greens) - looking for suggestions for alternative possibilities.

Rather than guessing which restaurants might have availability, try using opentable.com While restaurants often have availability that doesn't show up on opentable, it is a place to start.
Personally, I dislike going to "trendy" restaurants on NYE. I would rather go to a neighborhood place and try to have a nice meal that isn't an inflated prix fixe for the night.
Where are you staying and what kind of food are you looking for, in case you want neighborhood place?

There are literally hundreds of restaurants listed on OpenTable with openings late on NYE in SF including popular places like Flour+Water, A16, Barbacco, Jardinere, Michael Mina,Perbacco, and even the visitors' favorite Slanted Door.

are you looking for pre concert or pot concert dining - makes a difference in this all too l shutdown city
For post dining (ie 11:30 PM, spend the new year's moment in a restaurant) it's mainly neighborhood places, north beach, and a few downtown/fin district w/ availability on opentable- if you are in Union Sq, Scala's Bistro is fun, noisy but not too.
For pre concert you have a lot of choices on open table - without knowing where you need to be it's hard to make recommendations.
