need your help for Boston conference!
Hello,
I need to go to a conference in Boston from January 4-6, and I delayed making my reservations - now the conference hotels (the Sheraton Boston, Hilton Back Bay, Mariott Copley, and Westin Copley) are all booked, much to my dismay. I have a reservation at the Omni Parker, about a mile from the Back Bay, but was wondering if anyone had suggestions for smaller hotels in the Back Bay that would be closer to the conference?
Thanks for your help!

The Omni Parker is fine for the AHA conference (that's the one, right?). It's close to "T" lines -- you won't have to walk the mile, and it's a pleasant, old-fashioned place. Take it and be glad. The small hotels will have been long since booked (such as Newbury Guest House, Lenox, etc.).

If you like smaller hotels (Inns) try going to the West. Look at the Bertram Inn's website www.bertraminn.com. It's a lovely small inn just west of Kenmore Sq. in Brookline. It would be a short ride on the T to your conference, and probably half the price as the Omni. If you're a walker, you could even walk to your meetings.

I stayed at the Collonade on business in March-it is opposite the Prudential centre which houses the Sheraton.
It is a comfortable 4* hotel with bigger than average rooms-many of them L-shaped (what is sometimes grandly described as a junior suite).
It is recommended by Frommers and Time Out-I got a rate of $159 midweek and was pleased with the room

I just checked www.180096hotel.com and the Copley Plaza has availablity, along with the Wyndham Tremont, Park Plaza and Midtown, all of which are closer to Copley Place and nice places to stay. Before booking through them, though, price shop. Check expedia.com, boston4less.com and call directly.

Try Clarendon Square Inn. It's a bed & breakfast that is absolutely gorgeous. Like a 5 star hotel. Prices $130 to $180. Call of email them. Check out the Web site at http://www.clarendonsquare.com/. It's only several blocks from where you need to be. It's an easy walk, or if it's too cold in January, a quick cab ride to the conference.
