Need suggestions for Maui itinerary!

We will be going to Maui in June for our 25th wedding anniversary. Want to have some sightseeing and fun activities, but have time for some special romance and relaxation as we don't get that at home in (Utah) very often!
Will be flying out and arriving afternoon of June 11th. Will be staying at the Sheraton @ Kaanapali for 4 nights, then down to Wailea area to Maui Prince for 5 nights. We have reservations for day 3 @ the Feast of Lele, and want to go snorkeling both at Black Rock and Makena area, road to Hana, and Iao Needle one day. So many restaurants to choose from, so little time! Probably won't do Haleakala Sunrise or sunset, as have altitude problems with inner ears. Some suggestions on planning out other activities and meals, want to make this a very special trip. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks, Deb

Driving up Haleakala through Kula is such a magical experience. We do that every time we go to Maui. No need to try to make sunrise or sunset. I don't believe it will bother you.

The drive up the coast of West Maui is also a treat. We enjoyed the Kahului Swap Meet as well (the same day we went to the Iao Valley).

I believe that the road to Hana is optional. See lengthy post on this board about that.

Wailea Nights at Mulligan's in South Maui is a wonderful evening of great food, beautiful sunset, and fantastic entertainment. If you haven't listened to any music by HAPA, do so! You can pick up their CDs at many music stores or listen to snippets at mele.com.

Road to Hana--road work is going on until Aug. Single lane will be closed during daytime hours during the week andafter June 21 will be closed completely from 11:30 - 3:30 at MM11 near Ke`anae.

Whiel buyng a Hapa CD sure can't hurt, don't expect to see Barry Flanagan performing at Wialea Nghts. He and Nathan are promoting new Hapa CD and he is on and off island. Willie K plays with Eric Gilliom in Barry's place when they run Wailea nights and Barry is unavailable. But check with Mulligan's-- they are not doing Wailea nights every week right now.

here today gone 2 maui;
Thanks so much for the info on Road to Hana. We were planning on doing it, on about the 16th or 17th of June. Is it worth doing, if one lane is closed? I've read alot of threads about how it takes an entire day, and that it without any construction! We just want to see the waterfalls, the bamboo forest, and the other beautiful sights. Anymore input you could give me would be appreciated. Thanks, Deb

They won't be starting until 8:30, and it is before Ke`anae, so if you leave early you can get past that point before they close the lane.
