Need help with Restaraunts in Pauleys Island
We are spending a night in Pauleys Island in April. We always have a difficult time finding good food. Any suggestions for the area, we don't mind a drive if that is what it takes. Havent been to Georgetown, is it worth the drive? Thanks

Hi Jill...
There aren't too many restaurants right around Pawley's. Drive north a short way and go along the Alt. route thru Murrell's Inlet. Below is a listing of a MI restaurant listing site. It's been a while since I've been up there to a restaurant. Georgetown has a nice downtown area with some boutique shops along the wharf. Other than that...not much!
If I were staying at Pawley's, I'd make the most of any time I have there! If you like clams...drive down and park at the very south end of the island. Go to the inlet side (bring a small garden hoe or something to dig in the water with). Near the little docks you can dig up a bunch of fresh clams!
PS: We used to rent a house at the southern tip of the island many years ago.

Jill--meant to add to my post above that if you haven't been to Brookgreen Gardens, that would be the place to go instead of Georgetown. April is probably one of the most lavish mos. to go to the gardens. It's directly across from Huntington Beach State Park, north of Pawley's.
Enjoy...
Enjoy...

Jill,
We have vacationed on Pawley's for 21 years. Murrells Inlet is nice, but crowded. We like to go to Georgetown, too. The River House and Lands Inn Marina both have excellent food.
Hope you enjoy the Island - be sure to obey the speed limit - I promise the town strictly enforces it!!!
