Need help with family trip to Boston

We're planning a family trip to Boston this September with our kids (18, 12, 6, almost 1). (I know, I know - long time between cocktails...) The oldest will be a freshman at Harvard (on scholarship National Merit). Please recommend a hotel under $100/night within walking distance to all the major sights and attractions with free shuttle to/from the airport. Must include breakfast, perferably huge buffet style. Also need recommendations for reasonable famiy dining with lots of lobster and fried clams on menu.

I hope this is a troll. We do not need to know how smart your kid is (National Merit Harvard). Ask him if he is so smart.

I don't think you are going to find a location in Boston to fit your requirements to house 6 in one bedroom (4 children, 2 parents) be under $100 per night, in walking distance to the major sites, provide FREE shuttle service to/from Logan Airport, and also have include a BUFFET breakfast in the nightly room cost.

You will definitely need to stay outside of Boston, or else bid on Priceline. You're also going to have to get 2 connecting rooms.

You might look at hotels that have access to the T or the commuter rail. Try looking in Somerville, Burlington and Woburn. You're better off looking at places like the Tage Inn, Days Inn or Red Roof Inn to accommodate your $100 requirement. A large buffet breakfast is impossible, especially one that is included in the price, but you might find something that will include coffee, bagels and donuts.

Of course it's a troll. National Merit scholarships are a flat $2500 per year, which is less than 10 percent of the cost of a year at Harvard. Sorry, troll, you're busted, as if the outrageousness of your expectations wasn't enough.
