Need Help on Las Vegas Hotel Choice

My wife and I are planning a trip to vegas in september. We have decided to stay at a more moderate-priced hotel on the strip. We have narrowed our choices to Bally's, TI, or the Flamingo. We are leaning toward Bally's but don't know which tower has been renovated most recently and which tower has the better strip views. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Bally's is my choice too. The more expensive rooms are in the tower most recently renovated.

Some of the rooms at the Flamingo are like death warmed over since Harrahs corporation took over. I would imagine that the lower-priced rooms at Ballys are scary as well. I would go with TI or the Monte Carlo.

TI is your best bet, without at doubt.

#2 would be Monte Carlo.

Enjoy Las Vegas!

We stayed at Bally's and were very happy there. The location was perfect--exactly mid-strip. The rooms were large and nice enough and the bathroom was quite attractive. We found the best rate ($44 in December, 2009) on www.i4vegas.com.

I like the TI location, just across from good dining at the Venetian, the Palazzo, the wynn and connected to the Mirage. Seems to me there are fewer street peddlers with those flyers and bottles of water up at that end of the strip, too.
Fashion Square Mall next door if one of you wants to shop while the other gambles...Caesar's Forum is an easy walk too.

I can't comment on TI.

You would want the north tower at Bally's. Bally's has nicer rooms, in general, than Flamingo. Both have good access to the monorail, if you were to use it. Bally's is connected to Paris, which is a big plus. OTOH, Flamingo has a bit better access from your room to the strip than Bally's. Flamingo has a friendly vibe, to some extent. Bally's would likely have lower table minimums.

You would probably have a better chance of getting a strip-view room at Flamingo as one wing faces the blvd. Once I haed a room facing Flamingo road and was able to watch the fountain show at Bellagio. But, mostly, the strip view side is really a view of Caesars. I don't think I ever had a good view from Bally's. It would not be worth it to me to pay more for a stip view room. At Flamingo, I actually prefer the Flamingo Blvd wing vs the strip-side wing.

If it was a choice between Bally's north tower and Flamingo strip view, I would go to Bally's every time.

I can't comment on TI.

I can. The rooms are small at TI, but large at Bally's.

I can't comment on the Flamingo, but the last time
we stayed at Monte Carlo housekeeping was sub-
standard: dirty glass table tops and panties left
by a previous guest.

This is south of the strip, but our budget favorite is Southpoint...Rooms are more like a four-star property than budget style, and they have a very nice spa. They have great rates and the strip is easily accessible. Close to outlet malls and Town Square which has great shopping and some nice restaurants. Not a good choice unless you have a car, however.
