Need help looking for intimate place to stay

I am looking for a very intimate place to stay for a honeymoon in december. I just don't want that huge resort feel or all the people. I would love a great room that we could just hang out at or near to just unwind. Any help appreciated.

I am looking for a very intimate place to have breakfast in december. I don't want a huge buffet feel with all the people. I would love a great room where we could enjoy my scrambled eggs. Any help appreciated.

Sorry,
I've looked all over - Hawaii, Caribbean, Mexico. I originally booked Moorea, but we changed the wedding date and the Moorea dates will no longer work out. I definately want a beach. The wedding is 12/28. Hawaii sounds beautiful, but it seems that everywhere is a big resort (maybe I've got the wrong impression). I've also looked at Anse Chastanet in St. Lucia and I love Laluna in Grenada. Both of those appear booked.

My wife's cousin used to stay at a "campground" on St. John, USVI. It was beachside, with grass huts...not sure if that tickles your fancy. For the heck of it, you might checl out Caneel Bay...I don't know how big it is.

The huts over the water at Moorea are great!! Try someplace else in French Polynesia. I believe Bora Bora had some wonderful huts over the water. You have a grass shack to yourself, your front porch is over the ocean where you can go swimming. Bora Bora and Moorea were my favorite Islands but Tahiti also had over the water huts.

Always avoid any place that is described as being "lovely". Usuually it ends up being "lovely", just ....ing lovely."

Normally I'd second (or third or fourth) Little Palm Island but if a beach is very important to you, you'd probably be disappointed. All the beaches in the keys are man-made. On the plus side, it'd be a very intimate place for a honeymoon. Very pricey, too!! About $1,000 a day. You might check out their website...

Little Palm Island is great!!! Great suggestion. I would also recommend "La Samanna" on St. Martin (French Side).

James- MY vote goes to Guanahana Hotel in St.Barts--French West Indies--

or Jumby Bay in Antigua---

You will love either one of them....

Susan,
Do you ALWAYS have to write that the beaches in the Keys are man made? Is this the only fact that you know about the Keys?? Also, please explain why sand imported from the Bahamas would be any different after it was barged to the Keys.

You're the difference between a Keys addict and a Keys authority.

And Mark, you are the difference between someone who is normal and someone who is a complete freak!
