Need advice on NYC - 1 day in Soho area
Help...I'm staying at the Soho Grand Hotel and will have 1 day to see Greenwich Village, Soho, Little Italy, Wall St., etc...Since I'm only human and obviously can't do it all, what are the "Must See's" ?
Any advice on great restaurants in the area? Fun nightspots? Just looking for suggestions to compare to my Access New York guidebook ! THANKS

Lee the Grand is the perfect place to stay to do that part of Manhattan. Since the island is pretty small from Canal St. to downtown, you can walk everywhere.
The Grand is just a block away from Canal St. and a few blocks west of Little Italy (north side of Canal St) and Chinatown (south side of Canal St)
I would suggest walking down Broadway to the World Trade, go a about 2 more blocks south to Wall St and head east to the river then North a couple of blocks to the South St. Seaport.
From there walk toward the Brooklyn Bridge and have lunch in Chinatown and up to Little Italy for desert.
From there walk back to Broadway and head North to Soho and the Guggenheim Museum (south branch on Broadway) and then walk up to Houston, turn left and go walk west, the North side of Houston is the Village and the South is SoHO dally to your hearts content, and there are so many restaurants in the area for dinner, the menus are in the windows so pick what looks best.
For afterdinner go to Bleeker St. and find one of the Cafe Borgia for a wonderful desert.
Wow I am tired just looking at what I wrote, have a great day.

Shopper suggested walking down Broadway to the World Trade.. maybe he/she meant West Broadway (the street the SoHo Grand is on.) Walking down West Broadway would be better. It takes you through Tribeca, with some excellent restaurants, including NOBU. You'll never get dinner reservations there on short notice, but they now have a new lunch spot next door. Tribeca also offers awesome people-watching... I've seen Robert DeNiro, Danny Aiello, Sigorney Weaver and others just strolling through.
