National Park
What is the best national park to visit in California? If you are focusing on spending just a couple days there, where would you suggest flying into and out of for the park you think is best (and what would the highlights be at that park)? Pretty open on where in California I can fly in and out of.

For shear beauty of the scenery, it's hard to beat Yosemite IMO. What month were you planning to visit?
Large fires have devastated many areas of California this summer. Smoke changed the plans of many tourists this summer.
Snow may be coming to parts of the Sierra including Yosemite within the next 6 weeks.

That would be Yosemite.
Another favorite (but not a National Park) is Highway 1 from San Francisco (through Half Moon Bay) to Piso Beach (which has lots of rooms with ocean views).
The Redwood National and State Parks in northern California are impressive and unforgettable.
Death Valley has an eerie landscape that never tires me.
Sequoia and Kings Canyon are next on my list mainly because of where they are located and the unfavorable weather conditions we have encountered the two times we visited them.
I like Joshua Tree too, but it's appeal is less obvious than that of the others.

Yosemite.
Depending on your starting point you can either fly into one of the SF area airports (SFO, San Jose, Oakland), or Fresno which is quite a bit closer.
If I could get a non-stop to SFO, I'd use that and drive. Since I cannot fly to SFO non-stop from my home airport I use perfer to use Fresno via Las Vegas (1 stop for me).
For me, the highlights of the park is hiking to the top of Yosemite Falls (strenuous 1/2 day hike), and hiking up to Glacier Point via 4 mi trail then back down to the valley via Panorama trail (strenuous full day hike). Next trip I plan to hike Half Dome. (strenuous looong full day or 1.5 day hike).
