Nashville without a car

Nashville without a car
We are scheduled to visit Nashville for 4 days next May. I remember the city frof decades ago as being difficuly for drivers; thus, I wonder if it's possible to enjoy the city without a car. Any advice much appreciated.

For sight seeing, I used a hop-on/off trolley. Here's my trip report for ideas. It was over Thanksgiving so I can't say if it was hugely busy. Enjoy and please share your experience there (and in Charleston).
