I have not had Hattie, but give Gus an A plus.

I sputtered on the BBQ question. Edley's on 12th is my favorite. You may have to wait in line on the sidewalk but worthwhile.

Corky has a location in Brentwood right next to Gus. Corky is always reliable.

Lastly, Jim N Nick's BBQ is off an I 40 exit West of town is very good.

Most people disagree with me, but I don't really care for Corky's.

Thanks! Guess the Q's a bigger local item than the hot chicken.

Hot chicken is more of a specifically Nashville specialty, though you can find good barbecue too (I'm more a Whitt's fan than Corky's as well). I haven't tried hot chicken, though. 400 Degrees is right downtown, and Bolton's is across the river on Main Street.

Well...we'll have to try hot chicken as it's a Nashville specialty and pretty much unavailable elsewhere. And I regard BBQ as the quintessential American foodstuff. Fortunately, we're in Nashville two days and can sample both. Thanks again!
