Nashville airport help

Mary, If you're flying Southwest, the lines are pretty awful. They have only 3 or 4 Xray machines and Nashville is a major hub for them. I did hear that you could try and enter through the Delta security machines and then walk down the corridor to Southwest but I've not tried it. It took us almost 2 hours to get through on a recent Monday morning. We were also selected for a random check at boarding. This is no bid deal when you've got an assigned seat but it is deadly on Southwest. I was boarding pass # 4 but ended up boarding last after about 100 people. Our "reward" for being good citizens was not being able to sit together for the 4 hour flight to LA. I've always loved the efficiency of Southwest but this trip pretty much eliminated any future flights for me on their airline. Good Luck!

I've travelled from Nashville half a dozen times (all on Southwest) since Sept. 11 and haven't noticed any problems at all -- no longer than normal lines, no chaos, etc. I just flew out of Nashville on Friday, the first day of all the heightened security measures, and stood in line maybe 10 minutes to check my bags at the Southwest counter and maybe 4 minutes to go through the security checkpoint. Nothing any worse than I've seen previously in the 3 years I've lived here.
