Naples with a 4 year old

Hi my husband is going to be doing some testing for the Lee County Sheriff and Punta Gorda Police Departments May 30-June 2 and we will be staying in Naples May 29-June 4. We are staying in Naples because my husband has family there, but i was wondering if there is anything my daughter and I could do while my husband is testing (I won't have a car). We are staying in the Double Tree and I know they have tours. I guess I just don't want to be couped up in a hotel for 4 days and I know it will probably be hot that week. If anyone has ideas of what we could do let me know. I think it would be nice for my daughter and I to be able to spend time together and I know my husbands family members will be working during the day. Thanks in advance!!!

I'm topping this for you. Not sure if the trolley picks up at Doubletree, but if so this is your best bet. I would just spend time at the beach. The trolley goes by there and you can walk Fifth Avenue. There are plenty of casual little cafes to grab a simple lunch.

You need the expert advice from Neopolitan. I am sending this up the list for you in hopes he will catch it. LMF

The Doubletree is way north so nothing to walk to. I don't think the trolley goes that far.
Right across the road from Doubletree is a boat cruise that does the back bay and Cocohatchee River which is fun.
Otherwise, you really need to go to the Naples Zoo. And walking along Fifth Avenue or even going to Tin City (all inside and air conditioned).
Does the Doubletree do a shuttle into town, maybe? You really might want to consider renting a car for a couple days (I'm guessing you're saying your husband will take the car), so you can get around better.

My husband will have the rental car. We planned on going to the zoo and doing the boat cruise (that's free if you stay at teh double tree). I was curious about the trolly, but it looks like it doesn't go near there. I will have to contact the hotel and see if they have any shuttles or anything. I guess my husbands aunt took vacation so she could hang out with us. She has lived there for over 25 years and I am sure she will have lots to show us. So it looks like it is going to work out for us after all. Thanks for all the advice!!!
