Are you planning to rent a car or are you looking for a tour group? Are you by yourself? The reason I asked that is because if you plan on tasting a lot it would be a good idea to have a designated driver. Are you planning to stay in the area or are you thinking of a day trip and then going back to San Francisco? Give a bit more information please.

There are many such tours. Our favorite tour operator is Don of Platypus Tours. But you can get information through this link:
www.napavalley.com
Click on visitor information and then contact one of the Napa Valley Visitor Bureaus. There are tour companies that pick you up at your SF hotel and take you in a bus to Napa/Sonoma area to visit some wineries. You may prefer to get to Napa and use a local tour company instead - I think you would enjoy your experience more and you might taste much better wines. You can take the ferry from the Embarcadero in SF to Vallejo. Maybe your tour company could pick you up there? Or call Evan Transportation in Napa. They have a great airporter service from SFO to Napa and offer other transportaion and tour services, too. Check the website I listed for all the contact info.

Yes! Contact Platypus Tours! This website has all the info you want, including the ferry info. He can pick you up at the Vallejo Ferry Terminal. I guarantee you will love this tour far better than those big bus tours out of SF. You will have a more intimate, fun experience, will see and enjoy far more!
