napa/sonoma wineries that do custom labels
Help...We have a client who is retiring and would like to give him a case of wine with a customized label, with his name, etc. I've found this on Custom Wine Source on the internet -great labels - wine choice???
Manzanita or Cartlidge and Browne.
Are their wineries that will do this directly??
Thanks for your advises.

I have used Windsor for about 8 years now for client gifts at Christmas. If you contact them you can ask for Melanie Diamond. She's good to work with. They have wines at all prices and she can recommend...you can also get mixed cases. Also, like at any place all wines are not alike. The first wine I ever got from them was a Russian River Merlot and it was reasonable..about 25.00 a bottle I think, and it was just wonderful. I got a Merlot a couple of years ago that I didn't like all that much..it varies from year to year. The one I got last year was back to being really good again. Anyway, if you talk to Melanie she can go over all the wines with you and you can tell her what you like etc. Also,, I like her because she will still take care of you even if you are only ordering one case, and they have clients that order a whole lot more than that. So hope this helps.

crefloors has give you good details. I have ordered from them 5 or 6 times for special personalized labeled wines - but have just used the on-line site and not contacted them personally.
The site allows you to select different style labels and text.

We have rec'd Windsor 's "personal label" wine from fiends and we find it good ! If I were going to do this, with their wine (or any one's), I'd want to be sure it wasn't awful-and I've tasted some "personal label" wine that was
pretty bad,as in toss down the sink bad, lol...

I can't thank you enough for your referral to Melanie at Windsor. She was great and the wine has been ordered. I had a label design that I liked; but not theirs. She took it to her art department and got back to me in 2 hours with the proposed label. I've ordered a little of this and a little of that - but all their reserve and/or medal winners.
We also chatted about last weekend's Sonoma Harvest Fair. Her husband won a medal with a Zin. Hopefully I will have a chance to meet her when I'm out in Sonoma in 2 weeks.
She was also most curious about her referred me to her.
Thanks again!

Just a note to Linda:
The actual Sonoma County
Harvest Fair has not happened yet,
the medal winners have been lauded, yet the actual Fair and Wine Tasting are Oct 6, 7 & 8 at the Sonoma County
Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa. It's a fun time !
Glad to hear the good things about Windsor Vineyards !

Glad you had success!!!!! Yea, she's great!!! I really like the fact that she isn't a "snob" and doesn't mind if you only order a case or if it's the THE most expensive wine they offer. And see...it paid off for her with a referral. And of course you don't know my name, but that's OK Gee, maybe I should call and tell her...maybe I'll get a "handsome reward"!!!! LOL Glad it worked for you.

R5 - opps! enjoy the fair - let us know of any new wines you can't live without.
crefloors - Are you in Arizona? If so, Melanie knows you gave the referral. I mentioned this forum and your address. I think you deserve a great bottle of wine, at least.

landlcochran: I'm in Nevada actually. Anyway, Melanie called me today for my Christmas order...she tracked me down and by the way she said you were a lovely person...her exact words. Anyway, I got a 50.00 credit on my order for the referral. I was surprised actually..wasn't looking for that, but it was nice..so thanks..I hope your and your recipients enjoy the wine.
