Napa Resorts in June
Hello,
I am planning to attend a meeting in San Francisco in mid-June and would like to go up to Napa for several days before the trip with my wife and another couple. We would like to stay at a place with luxury accommodations and are willing to pay for it. Can anyone suggest resorts or inns that have things such as a spa and pool?
Thanks.

The only "real" luxury resort that I know of personally is Sonoma Mission Inn ---pools,spa, famous chef, great service. Few miles north of the town of Sonoma. Area is Fetters Springs and looks a little "run down" but once you get into the grounds, you are in another world. Lots of wineries in area and Napa Valley is just over the hills to the east.
P.S. Not sure if "mission" has been dropped from title. they did a BIG update in past and it was felt that "mission" implied old and not modern!!!

rich: Of course, Sonoma Mission Inn is in Sonoma, not Napa. Love Sonoma, but if you really want to stay in Napa Valley, you're only real resorts are Meadowood on the Silverado Trail in St. Helena (mid-Napa Valley) or Siverado Resort and Spa, also in St. Helena. Both have easy to find web-sites. I have only stayed at Meadowood, but it is fantastic in setting, grounds, amenities and service. Spa, pool, golf and tennis courts and an emphasis, of course, on wine. You can arrange for a wine-tasting seminar by a very knowledgeable connioisseur at the Resort if you like. I did that for a Senior Management Conference years ago and it was very well received.

For Napa there is Meadowood - which is my personal favorite - or Auberge du Soleil - my husband's favorite. Both are fantastic, so you can't go wrong either way. Meadowood is tucked away with beautiful green grounds and a nine-hole golf course. Restaurant is quite good, and they also serve tea and lunch on the terrace outside overlooking the golf course. It has two pools (one for families - one without), tennis courts and exercise facilities.
Auberge is up on the hill with an unbelievable view of the valley. They have the main pool, and then there is also a wading-type pool in the spa area. Full facilities for massages, etc. Restaurant is outstanding, and you can also get lunch or a cheese and fruit platter out on the deck overlooking the valley.
Ahh. I can feel the relaxing hitting as I type.
