We spent the fourth on the island!! It was fabulous! First of all, check out Nantucket.net! It has everything you need!
Now, we stayed at the 18 Gardner St. Inn (at 18 Gardner St.) We loved it there! We stayed in the second building....we had our own entrance and our own front porch! We had to walk outside for our breakfast but it was worth it! We had so much privacy! It was like we were alone! Also, bikes were included!!
We had a great time....feel free to e-mail me with any questions....it's my new favorite place to go!

Nantucket is great. Crowded on occasion, but lovely. A wonderful place to stay is the Stumble Inn. They have adorable little rooms in an annex across the street from the actual Inn, which are more private. Like little Laura Ashley suites. Staying in Siasconset is nice, but far from town. But the advantage is the beautiful rose-covered cottages. If you have a car, stay out of town. If you are on bikes or foot, stay near town. And enjoy!

My husband and I stayed on Nantucket for our honeymoon last September and we loved it!!!!!! We stayed at the Sherburne Inn. It's right in town and you could walk to it from the ferry boat. Beautiful rooms with private baths and the best homemade muffins and preserves! Although I've never stayed there, I would also recommend the White Elephant. I not sure if its considered a B&B or a resort.... but the property and location is beautiful. It's right outside of town and is also walking distance from the ferry. The Sherburne Inn was 115.00 for a Friday night, and I believe the White Elephant was a bit more pricey. I hope you enjoy you're stay as much as we did!!

My wife and I just returned from Nantucket and had a great time! We stayed at the Cobblestone Inn and can't say enough good things about it. The only problem that we had was eating out every meal. After a few expensive places we found the best bargain on the island (if Nantucket can be said to have ANY bargins at all, that is!) at Henry's Sandwich shop. We found it by accident and were pleasantly surprised ... fast service, really good food, and we didn't have to mortgage the house to eat a meal!

We love the Jared Coffin House - sort of a cross between a B&B and a hotel. It's a terrific inn with a fabulous fancy restaurant and a wonderful pub. We also like the Corner House (a little less pricey), the Overlook (moderate and charming) and the Nesbitt Inn (when we want to be really economical). You really can't go wrong, because the accomodations business is really competitive. The advice to stay in town and a short walk from the ferry docks is excellent. Dinner and a nightcap at the Summer House in Sconset is worth the trip. The restaurant is very romantic a la Cassablanca, the food is spectacular. And, sitting on the porch enjoying your favorite libation while listening to the piano on one side and the waves lapping at the shore on the other under the moonlight could not be more magical! Not to be missed is the Club Car (especially if you love lamb) and the piano bar after dinner.
