N. Myrtle or Pawley's Island?

My boyfriend and I are looking at going to the beach for a long Thanksgiving weekend. I usually stay in North Myrtle but I am looking for something different. I found a place by the name of Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort and the rooms(villias) appeared cozy and nice. I like to visit Myrtle for some shopping. Maybe just for one day but for the most part enjoy quaint laid back resturants and bars. What do you think? How is the weather in November? Is golf a possibility. I've never been to Pawley's Island but would like to experience a nice change of scenery. Thanks!

Hi Audrey, people on this board recommend Litchfield quite often, I think. Pawely's Island will definitely be more laid back than North Myrtle Beach, but still plenty of good seafood restaurants. Do a search & you will come up with plenty of recommendations.

No question about it: stay in Litchfield! You specifically mentioned *quaint and laid back* Perhaps NMB used to be that, but not anymore.

Litchfield/Pawleys Island is a great place--my wife actually likes the shopping better down there than in MB (where we live).

oops, I meant to add that weather in November here is usually great. Daytime temps in the 60s or 70s.

Hi Audry! My family has a vacation home on Pawleys Island so I know the area well.

You are actually going to be in Litchfield beach which is a different barrier island than Pawleys Island. Both are very beautiful.

Eat: Franks. Best restaurant on the beach. Also I like Louis's very much (Louis Osteen is a very famous chef from Charleston) but I've also heard sketchy reviews. Landolfis is a must for lunch.

Murrells Inlet which is north of you is excellent for seafood. Bovines, Divine Fish House, and Russells are excellent.

Shop: The Hammock Shops in Pawleys Island. The Mall in Myrtle Beach is crap. There are some outlet shops on 501 which are good. Buy a Pawleys Island Hammock. Fun to watch them being made.

The weather should be nice. It is in the 80s today but supposed to drop down to the 70s this weekend. Normal highs on Thanksgiving are around 65-70 degrees.

audrey....our family will be in North Myrtle over Thanksgiving...so...definitely stay in Litchfield and you won't have to run into my wild grandchildren!
We go every year at Thanksgiving and usually take a light jacket, however,
a few years ago we needed a heavy jacket.
Hey GoTravel...you mean the new mall out near the airport is crap? If so, what a shame.
