I took that tour 2 or 3 years ago.
They did not pick up from every hotel then, check it on the website. I walked maybe 2 blocks from mine, there was a waiting area.
The tour was excellent, several stops, great views, and you get to walk on the glacier!
And we stopped by the waterfall on the way, can't spell it... something like "snowqualmie", such a powerful waterfall!!
To go home, the driver took everybody to each hotel (expecting tips).
Definitely recommend the tour! I was there the week before or after Memorial day weekend, sweater and windbreaker were enough, no heavy jacket needed on the glacier.
Don't forget your camera

Thought about renting a car for 1 day but, I think I'm leaning toward the tour. None of us would have to drive & we may miss something really special just wandering around on our own.On the tour I'm sure they'll make sure we see great sites.
