Even though they were touristy I still liked them.
Newport,RI
Dublin,parts not a lot.
Pensa Cola,Fl I'll never return.
Niagara Falls
Williamsburg,Va I'll return some day,since it's so close.
NYC Not a fan but I do like plays and they insist on filming Spider-Man there.
I think that's it.

The Trevi Fountain in Rome, with those freakin' rose peddlers and bubble pistol vendors!!! They ruined a perfectly good architectural wonder! And if you think you'll find a typically great Italian meal nearby- forget it!
Also, I agree with Linda...anywhere within 500 yards of wherever the ship docks.

Agree with:
Wisconsin Dells,
Hollywood,
Estes Park,
Royal Gorge,
the whole southwest Orlando area
and
Anywhere a cruise ship docks
(i.e. Old San Juan and Charlotte Amalie - I still like visiting them, but they are touristy).

Merrimac Caverns, Missouri.
There is a room called the "auditorium," I think, because it has formations that resemble the curtain on a stage proscenium. They dim the lights, and project an image of an American Flag on the wall, while they play an old recording of Kate Smith singing "God Bless America." Apparently, she sang this on site many years ago!

LLinda and Furledleader, you are so right about "anywhere a cruise ship docks". A friend of mine did a Caribbean cruise last year. He got suckered in by the ads, esp. the ones showing a couple frolicking in the under a lovely waterfall. Of course the ad showed ONLY the couple in the waterfalls. On one of his day excursions, he did get to stand under that waterfall. For about 30 seconds, along with 150 other cruisers lined up behind him, each being prodded to stand under the falls, pose for a snapshot (to be picked up and paid for later) and then hustled along so the next person could have their photo op.
That was his first cruise and he swears it will be his last.

JRP, I can't agree with you enough. The Trevi fountain is gorgeous but between the rose peddlers and the guys trying to get you to pay them to take a Polaroid picture it totally ruins the experience. We went once, on our first trip to Rome, and swore it would be our last. Luckily there are plenty of other beautiful fountains in Rome so the Trevi fountain hasn't been missed.
