Monte Carlo (Las Vegas)

When my wife & I were in Las Vegas in January, we visited the Monte Carlo, but did not stay there. We thought it looked great, but we would be interested in any opinions of those who have stayed there. Also interested in rates and whether you dined at the hotel and/or gambled or visited their showroom. Thanks.

the monte carlo was great. Its very easy to park the car and go right up to the room. most other mega hotels force you through the casino. The rooms were nice but nothing to rave about. nice view of the strip. stayed at the luxor did not care for it. to confusing and to family oriented. the top pick for me is the hard rock hotel and casino.smaller but very exciting. casino small but spared no expense. definite show to see is mystree at treasure island. well worth the pricey ticket but it will be hard to see any other show in vegas and compare it.

Monte Carlo is a middle of the road Hotel.
I agree with the previos response about the Hard Rock. It is a smaller Hotel, very friendly and Service oriented.

If you go in nice weather, the pool is wonderful, rent a cabana for about $60 a day...they have misters to keep you cool, refrig.,t.v.,etc. worth the money for a day at the pool.

The only thing I would say about the Hrd.Rk.is the rooms are nothing special but if you can get a pool view, all have doors that open and small balcony.

Suites are excellent, all with 2 baths, 2 balcony doors and huge.

The Monte Carlo was a joke! Middle of the road about sums it up. I can't believe, in these days of stiff competion among Vegas Hotels, that this place was even built. The dumpy Palace Station has more casino action than this place. Obviously, I had a bad experience there. We go to Vegas atleast 3 times a year (for the last 6 years) and have stayed all over. We made reservations months in advance ($65+tax) and when we got there, NONE of our requests had been honored. We ended up in a room with a great view of the air conditioners. They billed us after we checked out for an extra nights stay, which we are still jacking with. And the complaints thus far have fallen on deaf ears. The table minimums are high, like Ceasars high and the casino is dead most of the time. We found ourselves going downtown to gamble anyway. We had a little problem at the Golden Nugget once and they put us in two room suite. Now that was a bit of over-kill but, it gets us back there twice a year. For the same money you can stay somewhere more fun and with a lot nicer rooms. The following are my suggestions for value, room, casino action - The Golden Nugget, Stardust (tower rooms), NY NY, Rio Suites. If you are renting a car it won't matter as much that, God forbid, you're not by the MGM and the rest of that mess.

I have stayed at the Monte Carlo many times
and love it. Last time, I stayed on the penthouse
floor and views were exceptional as were the
staff and service. Must be lucky for me, because
I always end up on the plus side when gambling.
I hated NY NY-- tiny rooms, dark and the roller
coaster noise was awful.

We stayed at the Monte Carlo last November and we
liked it very much. Thought the price was reasonable. Staff was very good. Think you'll have
a good time no matter where you stay. Vegas is
exciting!!! Try the new "New York,New York" hotel.
Heard it is beautiful. Have fun!!!!!
