Montauk Vacation

I am looking for a clean, recently updated
or new hotel or motel to stay in next summer
in Montauk. Our only other requirements are
a pool and they allow children. Has anyone
ever stayed in Montauk Manor? Any suggestions
would be much appreciated?

Montauk Manor is way up at the top of a hill - away from everything. I stopped there for dinner this summer, but it wouldn't be my choice. Royal Atlantic is on the ocean - in fact there are a number of motels, all of which look fine, that are on the ocean. I think they're at a better location...

We stayed at the Royal Atlantic in September of this year. It's right on the ocean but the place is a sewer. I saw the Montauk Manor but didn't stay there, a friend of mine has, she said it was great. We wouldn't stay at the Royal again for free, next time we'll try the Montauk Manor.

There are cottages along the Old Montauk Highway, across the street from the beach that are great for families..they have small kitchens, living rooms with fireplaces,we used to take our children there when they were small, especially liked it off season.Lenhardts on the Old Montauk Highway.Do not recommend the Montauk Manor.Call the Chamber of Commerce and get a brochure that will tell you the names of all the places to stay in town..There are also places right before the Old Montauk Highway that are great..where will you be coming from? I will look up my old brochures, we have stayed in Montauk for over 20 years, although we rent houses...I will see what I have and let you know

Sorry to hear that the Royal Atlantic is no longer up to standards...stayed there many times years ago...room # 90 was my favorite...right on the ocean...sliding door, kitchenette...the room was nice and clean.

Montauk manor is way up on a hill and you must drive to the beach. However, they do have an indoor pool which can be very nice during bad weather. The Royal Atlantic is right on the beach, they also have a section across the street from the beach. The rooms are not glamorous but the location is very convenient. Also look into the Sands and the Beach Plum. Much nicer hotels.
