Montana vs. Maine
I am considering a trip to Glacier NP or Acadia NP and would like some suggestions. For those who have been to both - knowing what you know now, which would you choose if given only one more visit to either? Why?
Really my trip to Maine would include Cape Breton and Prince Edward while my trip to Montana would include Banff - if that makes a difference.

My husband said Montana was more isolated and spectacular. Acadia, PEI and Cape Breton are beautiful and quaint. There are more people around. I think you would also have more varied scenery on the trip to Maine and PEI. PEI has beautiful rolling, green hills and farms. The ocean beckons many.

I live in Billings, MT, so I may have some bias. Glacier Park and the Northern Rockies into Banff are awesome. You need to go to the Swiss Alps to see anything to compare.... It is true that Montana and southern Canada in this area are going to be much more sparsley populated, but the touristy areas (like Banff)can be really busy and congested depending on what time of year you are coming. A lot depends on how you are traveling also. Part of the reason so many film makers like Montana is that you can see and be immersed in just about any kind of environment you can imagine, from dry desert like conditions to lush, forested lakesides to grand rocky peaks that rise to the sky... There goes that bias thing again. I of course suggest Montana, The Big Sky Country.
