Molokai lodging?
Aloha!
We're thinking of a quick visit to Molokai but can't seem to find a positive review (or attractive photo) of the lodging options there.
For those who have been, any ideas? We were excited about the lodge (formerly the Sheraton) but ugh terrible reviews!
Is any one condo suggested? A B and B?
Mahalo!

I have friends that rent a condo there--I haven't been myself, but seen pixs and it looks nice and is reasonably priced. If you give me your e-mail addres and let me know when you want it, I'll get in touch and see if it's available.

I was also noticing the bad reviews while looking for places to stay in Molokai. I asked my friend about the Hotel Molokai, and she was pretty positive about it.
They have a new chef, who was a finalist on the TV show, Top Chef, and I think they often have live music.
Has anybody stayed there?

Kailani--- we stayed at Hotel Molokai a few years ago:
Positives-+ close to main town, which widens your food options
+ found the staff to be friendly
+ enjoyed the restaurant, and live music on weekend.
Negatives- -rooms pretty basic, almost rustic, worn around the edges, no a/c but had fans, bug spray provided in room alarmed me at first, but I do not recall anything bigger than an ant (if there was something bigger, I'm sure I would remember it!).
- not a real sand beach there, not good for swimming, so drove elsewhere for beach time.
Though our stay was not terrible, if we were to return to Molokai, I would choose something different--- maybe a condo on the west end, on the beach.

We stayed on Molokai for 3 nights in Dec and loved the condo we stayed in-VRBO website - 58387. It is direct oceanfront on the golf course-there is a convience store and a couple gifts stores on property, plus golf course, no restaurants close by. It was spacious and very open, but NOT for light sleepers it only has screens in the upper part covered by the roof so you can hear the ocean all night. When we were there it was super windy so it was very noisy, didn't sleep much but loved it anyway, very secluded and romantic. We definitely will stay there when we go again we loved the solitude, but still did not take to long to drive to town.
