Minneapolis Whse Downtown District- Target Field Access HOTEL
Anyone have knowledge to pass along re a hotel that is walking distance to Target Field?
We are very unfussy. Clean and safe to elegant or 4 star- let me know- if YOU know good options or favorites.
Another baseball trip is blooming. Air fares are so cheap we may fly.
Is, in your opinion, lodging in this part of Minneapolis without a car- feasible?
Any thoughts or opinions are welcome! We could drive. It will cost more to drive than fly, but it may be the only way to really get around near Target Field.

JJ5, when I went to Target Field I stayed at a Raddison, on 6th street, 4 blocks from the field. It was plenty nice and I felt it was the best value but there are a lot of hotels within walking distance. You really do not need a car in this part of Minneapolis as there are a ton of bars and restaurants as well as theatres like the Guthrie and comedy clubs. Enjoy the game and a great stadium, ziggypop

Thanks, ziggypop. The Raddison is one of three I might get if I bid on Hotwire at 3.5 star level. The others are Crowne Plaza Northstar or Millenium.
Looking at various maps, it seems like with so many close choices I can't go too wrong. I don't know if we are flying or driving yet, and if I wait too long to bid- I'll try the Raddison as first pick. THANKS!
I've just been to PNC and was in Seattle and Baltimore and Comerica too- all within the last year. I'm looking forward to seeing the new one. I've seen Brewers' newest. Haven't seen St. Louis' new one yet, either. Saw the old one several times there.
ziggypop- great thanks- as I had doubts about being carless again- but think that will be the way to go. Airfares are dirt cheap on SW from Midway/Chicago and except for the country jaunt, the car would just be a drag. We will hit two games for sure.

JJ5, Any of your hotel options would be very good. And its true a car would be unnecessary. You can take the train from airport to downtown.
Be aware it gets darned hot in the outfield seats if the weather turns warm. I've known people to leave after 3 innings feeling like they were having heat stroke. I think bottled water runs about $3-$4 so you might want to bring an empty bottle to fill at the sparsely located water fountains. If you don't already have tickets, check Ebay or Stub Hub for tickets in the Legends section of the stadium. Great seats with access to club amenities often go for a good last minute price from corporate holders unable to attend. Welcome to Minneapolis.

Thanks for tips, TC. These are all night games, but heat is heat and I hear you. It has been steaming in both IL and MI this summer and most humid too.
I'll check out the Legends section suggestion for sure. Right away.
