Milwaukee Area or Wisconsin Dells

We won a trip on the Lake Express Ferry to Milwaukee from Michigan. Just wondering what we can do in Milwaukee with pre-teen kids. Also wondering what is a nice waterpark/hotel in the Dells. Any Wisconsin ideas would be great. We are planning to be in Wisconsin for about 2-3 days.

Thanks!

What time of the year? Milwaukee has several festivals lakeside in the summer. Also the art museum, the public museum, and the zoo are all very good. I haven't been to the Dells in years, but from what I remember, most places were motel-like. It may have changed since.

The Wilderness is amazing. www.wildernessresort.com. Great Wolf Lodge is also nice but is on a much smaller scale. Time of year will impact costs.

Their is plenty to do in Milwaukee -- Betty Brim Children's Museum - Discovery World right down on the lake front -- of course the Public Museum and the great Zoo.

In Milwaukee there is an underground restaurant called The Safe House that is modeled after a speakeasy. You need a password and everything. It is really cool.

For the Dells, there is SO much to do. Definitely the best hotel to stay at would be the Kalahari as it has the biggest indoor and outdoor waterpark and also arcades, ferris wheels, go karts, etc. Definitely recommend that or Mt. Olympus which is comparable.
