MILNER HOTEL-BOSTON? ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS?

We plan to visit Boston for a couple of days next week. It seems that the Milner Hotel has the best rates (for Boston!) and includes breakfast. However, on the phone, the people there were kind of scatter brained and unfriendly.---makes me wonder. Have any of you stayed there? How is it? How is the neighborhood? Thanks

Sorry to say. I found the same thing at the Longwood Inn hotel and different places all over Boston. I think it's unique to each city. I've found the same in parts of Florida.

I don't know the hotel, but the neighborhood would be okay. It's right off the Common, on the edge of the theater district. I believe it's about one block from the 57 hotel (whoever owns it now), and the Park Plaza, a new Legal Seafoods, etc. Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.

hi there

Yes, I had the exact same experience with the Milner Hotel. I decided to look elsewhere. I am now booked to stay at the Midtown Hotel in Boston - good rates, great hotel with free parking.

Enjoy

We stayed at the Milner last fall. They are a little disorganised at times, but were helpful. The rooms were OK. Clean, fairly comfortable, good value.

However, the location is great. It is walking distance to most of the sights. There are a few good restaurants close by, such as Legal Eagles, and the excellent Finale (specialises in desserts - which they match to the wines - although they also do entrees which were also very good indeed [and smaller than the usual huge American portion]).

Yikes! Now they're serving Eagles!!! I think what D. Fox meant was Legal Seafoods! Or someone from the Boston College Law School has opened a restaurant??? Can't wait to try it ;-).

Yes, Ann--or maybe they made a scary theme restaurant based on that movie from a few years back
