Debbie, do some research by using the search function at the top of the screen. This has been answered ad nauseum...

Quality and affordable in Midtown? Would you like a foot massage too? Seriously, NYC is very expensive and quality/affordable really don't go together. How about decent/affordable or quality/memorable?

A more helpful question: How much do you want to spend?

I usually stay at the Gorham Hotel. It's small, but they have a kitchenette in all the rooms. Across the street is the Wellington Hotel which is more affordable, but not as nice. Although there is a fabulous Greek restaurant off the lobby of the Wellington.

The Marriott Marquis in Times Square was great and very affordable---I got 2 nights over Memorial Day weekend for $100/night via priceline.com . Do some research, put in an absurdly low bid like I did and see what you get! Worked for me.

Try the Crowne Plaza on Broadway...right on Times Square for about $200/night.

I have also stayed at the Gorham (4 times) and the Marriott Marquis just 2 months ago. Both great locations but Gorham a bit quieter. Read quite a bit about the Casablanca hotel & they sometimes have great buys over the internet.

We just returned from a trip last weekend and stayed at the Roosevelt Hotel, 45th and Madison. Great location, right next to Grand Central Station, and we got an Internet special rate of $159 with a full, wonderful breakfast included. Room size was fine by NYC standards and service was very good.

I have stayed 3x at the Flatotel, Great location, 52nd bet 6th & 7th. That's walking to theater, Sak's, Bloomies, museums, w/out being in the theater chaos. Call the hotel for the best rate, I pd $155 p.n. Definitely not a snazzy palce, but very do"able" & I repeat, awesome location. Ask for the newer remodeled rms, they have refrigerators.

The Roger Williams is $199 and is at 32nd at Madison. They serve a great breakfast and supply cappucino, tea, coffee all day and a fruit tray in the afternoon. We loved it. We are staying at the Mansfield this year which is $159 and is at 45th (I think).

Lin g, how did you get the $159 rate at the Mansfield? Whenever I've tried, they've wanted around $300.
