Miami - South Beach lunch recommendation
Looking for a great place to have lunch with children (7, 12, 13). Not a kid's place (they like good food), but not somewhere businesslike and quiet either. We like Asian/fusion food. Something like Spice Market in New York. Any ideas? This is our first trip to Miami.

In that vein, I would suggest the Van Dyke Cafe on Lincoln Road (owned by News Cafe), as it's on a closed street and the kids can walk around without being near a busy street. Also excellent food, although I don't know about Asian/fusion..however there are numerous ethnic places to eat on Lincoln Road and it's wonderful for people watching.

Sorry late in responding, just came home from work. I don't believe either one of these restaurants or any of ones on Lincoln Road take reservations, but I don't think that you'll need them. Both News Cafe and Van Dyke are in and outdoors, as are most of the ones on Lincoln Road. TIP - if you want some "grown up" entertainment, upstains in the Van Dyke is a wonderful venue for jazz -7 days a week; intimate, "New York" style club, without being packed together like the NY clubs.
