miami airport for seven hours
My wife and I, along with three older teenagers have a 7 hr layover in Miami on July 26th between 10;00 am and 5;00 pm. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on things we might do in Miami. I'm not concerned about monetary constraints as much as time issues. Thanks in advance for you imput.

I'd go have a long lunch (with mojitos for the adults) at Lario's on Flagler - great Cuban food.
There's a golf course with a driving range just outside the airport. You could go hit some balls if you wanted to do something active. If you want a shower after, you could buy a one-day pass to the Admiral's Club.

Hi - when we had this time to fill:
First time, we took the Everglades tour ~ that was 4 hours in length {after getting off the cruise ship}{"cruise excursion"}
..it was different and fun!( able to get lunch)
Second time ~ we reserved a "day room' at the Miami Airport Hilton ~ had a very nice room, took a nap, swam, showered, caught a bite to eat in the hotel {that was Not outrageously priced} and took the hotel shuttle to the airport.
Here's hoping all falls into place !

I would take a cab to Coconut Grove (less than $30). Ask to be dropped at Cocowalk. Also a movie theatre and other stores. It's not a mall but rather is an area where you can walk around and be a little more in Miami than in mallville. Lots of places to chose for lunch - Jaguar is latin fusion/cerviche. Tu Tu Tango is tapas. Even an historic site (the Barnacle) if that interests you. I would leave the Grove 2 hours before your flight (assuming no luggage and you have your tickets)
