Memorial Day Week 2009

Making airline reservations for next year. We are thinking that Memorial Day week might be early enough to miss many tourists yet late enough to enjoy good weather. Any thoughts???? Would early May be ok????

Thanks for your advice!

Memorial Day is great here. Pre-tourist season, weather typically very good (although there might be a 'bite' in the air to you) and days are long.
Late September is rainy, season is changing to Fall/Winter and snow could be a problem depending on your destination.

I would do Memorial Day. As the price difference is huge pre June 1st vs after June 1st. This year we did 4th July week vs Memorial Day week. Not much difference in the temps but the budget was twice as much. If you were planning on doing a fishing trip, you would want to plan around the salmon runs.
