Mayflower Hotel SFO - Love or hate??

Any thoughts on this hotel as a base for a 5 night stay for 2 girls in their 20's?

It has generally good reviews on TripAdvisor.

The location is just west of Union Square. Public transportation is widely available. You should have a great time there.

Just note that some people feel a little uncomfortable staying just west of Union Square.

Hopefully FainaAgain will see this and can comment on the specific location. It's a little farther "west" of Union Square than I would normally recommend, especially for 2 girls in their 20s.

You rang?

OK, I Googled, is it the same hotel, the address I got is 975 Bush (Taylor-Jones), why is it west of Union Square if it's north-west??

The location is safe (in any city, be aware of surroundings), public transport in that area not the best, you'll walk a couple of blocks to/from a bus. In 20s I don't see a problem with that!

Close to Union Square, Embarcadero, Chinatown, North Beach. Strong gals can walk almost everywhere from there!
