May weather in NY city

Just wanter to get some idea what is the weather like towards the end of May in NYC.
Is it a rainy season?

May in New York is like May anywhere in the Northeast US: changeable. Go to worldclimate.com for info. Average temp in May is 61°F, with an average maximum of 71°F and an average minimum of 53°F. Average rainfall is 3.9 inches, the 7th highest rainfall out of the 12 months.

Really no such thing as rainy season but May is the 2nd wettest month after July.

Went 2 years ago over the Mother's Day weekend and it was in the 90's. We had dressed too warmly.

Two years in a row temps were over 90 when we visited at the end of May (only one evening of rain). You just never know.

. www.weather underground.com and www.weather.com both have a weather history area on their sites. Either a day by day or a graph representing each month with lines for average highs and lows and the real unusual highs and lows.Also rainfall amounts and humidity
Of course it can change in matter of hours...
