The shows at the Ritz are in an lovely indoor ampitheatre. They are concerts, not club performances; the sound is great, the ambiance is intimate. Whether or not it is worth $40 to you is too subjective for me to even try to address. I, personally, am looking forward to both John Keawe and Uncle Richard Ho`opi`i in coming weeks.
They are Tuesdays at 6 & 8:30; slackkey.com has schedules.

Slack key master George Kahumoku and his wife Nancy stage these weekly shows -- if only we could do something similar here on Kaua`i!! The schedule is posted here:

Cyril Pahinui? I'd pay that and more, in a heartbeat, to see him in concert again .... He was in Raleigh with Dennis & David Kamakahi a few years ago, and we so wish they'd all come back! Have several of his and his Dad's CDs. Haven't had the pleasure of seeing him perform when I've been IN Hawaii..... Go enjoy for me, too!

We had the extreme pleasure of experiencing Cyril Pahinui and Led Kaapana three years (I think) ago, at a wonderful theatre, called "The Ark", in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We drove 75 miles from home to see them!! We love Keola Beamer, but thought Cyril & Led were amazing!!! Looking forward to lots of live slack key, as well as any other Hawaiian music we will be fortunate enough to experience, when we come to Oahu, B.I., and Maui, Jan,Feb.,2006. "Bargain Traveler", you will not be disappointed!!!
