Maui Sheraton Maui Resort/Westing ka'anapali?
I am reposting this realized I was not specific in my title request. thank you
I will be in Maui end of May 1st week of June I have two reservations right now with Sheraton Maui Resort and Westin Ka’anapali Ocean Resort Villas I have read many reviews in Expedia and other sites (could not find any of the Westin, in the forum) the Westin seems like the way to go can anyone give me their personal opinion. All your help is appreciated.
Thank you. Gina

We stayed at the Sheraton Maui Resort and really enjoyed it. Our room was large, bathroom huge and our lanai was a nice size. We were on an upper floor (ocean side) and it was a beautiful view. We walked to Whalers Village and took the shuttle into Lahania. The beach was nice and being on Black Rock was a plus. Good snorkeling. Only used the restaurants a few times but the bars were nice, so was the pool area. I'm sure the Westin is nice but I haven't stayed there.

I haven't been there yet, our first time will be in March. We booked a package @ the Westin(we liked the pools & slides since our 8yr old son will be with us). We also can share some of the ammenities with the Sheraton which will be cool so that in the morning after breakfast @ the Sheraton, we can snorkel @ Black Rock. Hope you have fun. If I remember, I'll post our experience when we get back, mid March.

I will appreciate it if you do (better yet, I'll be back to make sure you do
) one last question, I originally posted this and someone answered me pointing out Whalers Village is not close to the Westin any idea how far it is from Westin?

Whalers Village is right next to Westin Resort; it is not right next to Ocean Villas. There is a shuttle from the Ocean Villas to both Sheraton and Westin Resort. It is less than 5 minute walk from Westin Resort to Whalers Village. It must be about 10 -15 minute walk from Sheraton to Whalers. Ocean Villa may not be walkable...could be about 20 + minutes IF there is a path along the beach but I am not sure there is one.
Westin Resort is first of the three, then comes the Sheraton and then is Ocean Villas. Each is a couple of miles apart.
Hope this helps...

I can't speak to the Westin Ocean Resort, but...
We stayed at the Westin Resort in November because we have lots of Starwood points...but next time we'll stay at the Sheraton. Don't get me wrong - the Westin was lovely, but the Sheraton is in a superior snorkling spot, and we found ourselves trooping down the beach to get to it several times, which was quite a haul for my young, short-legged son.
Really, though. You'll be in Hawaii...seems like you can't go wrong!

Ok, we live near San Francisco and we used a local travel agent/friend. Casino World Travel/Pleasant Holidays. We had researched Pleasant Holidays on the internet ourselves and we ended up saving about $800.00 thru the agent. We have 7 nights. 6 on Maui/Ka'anapali Westin and One on in Oahu/Hyatt Regency. No special views, Mid-size sedan, Royal Lahaina Luau, Daily breakfast for two @ Westin or Sheraton. Total price, two adults, one child $4568.00.
What do you think, Uli

Starwood is running a 35% off + 5th (or 6th depending on resort) free for Hawaii. We booked at the Sheraton (Westin says rate is not available). It's difficult to find on the SPG website. You need to use this link:
http://hawaii-exclusive.destinations...ii_SPG35HI_ALL
The rate only comes up if you use this link. If you try to enter the promo code through the sheraton website, it says the rate is not available.
We got 5 nights, oceanfront, for $436/night ($348 avg after the free night).

Uconn...thank you sooooooo much. Huge discount that I hadn't been able to find before. We opted for the Deluxe Ocean Front for $478/night I think. That's an awesome deal when the 5th night is free for that room category. The room is regularly $770/night and this deal brings it down to just about $400/night. Plus you get the 35% AVIS discount (don't know if that's a good deal or not) and the 35% off for meals for lunch and dinner (again, not sure if that's a good deal) But I know the room rate is. Thanks for sharing!!!

You're welcome.
As it turns out, I just cancelled our rooms at the Sheraton. The Marriott Maui Ocean Club just opened up some rooms for July and I was able to use my Marriott points for two 1-BR "villas." With 4 adults and 3 kids traveling, the extra room will come in handy.
The Avis discount is the best around. We are Costco members, which is usually very good. The Sheraton discount beat Costco by $15-$20/day.
