Maui - Christmas Dinner?
We will be in Maui (Kaanapali) over Christmas this year. We are looking for some nice restaurant suggestions for: My husband, 3 kids (ages 9, 6 and 4), my mother and me. We ate at the Four Seasons last time we were in Maui in 2002 (only 1 child at that time) and it was very kid-friendly. We always eat early, 5 or 5:30.
Now we are on the other side of the island and are not sure if she drive back to Wailea, or try something different. Thank you!!

Hello,
I live on Maui and have a few suggestions. I'm actually in the same boat since my boyfriend and I don't have family here. Ruth's Chris in both Lahaina and Wailea do a great traditional menu as well as their regular menu. We are going here for Thanksgiving. I recommend the BBQ Shrimp with the best sauce..white wine, garlic and butter. So good to dip their warm bread in to. Yummy! This is also on the Mainland so maybe you'll want something local.
Seawatch in Wailea is good with a view. The Old Lahaina Luau is sold out for Christmas already but does have a wait list. Capische in Wailea, Lahaina Grill in Lahaina, Haliimaile General Store (same Chef as Seawatch) is great with the best desserts, Ferraro's in Wailea...good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions! I will call around and see what is available. Seems like Lahaina Grill has a nice kids menu (which tells me that they are a kid-friendly place). We will definitely try to make it there over our holiday.
We are so excited! Thanks again.

All places are kid friendly and Jurg/owner at Lahaina grill is a great choice but do they still have availabilty for Christmas?
Things sell out quick and near Thanksgiving, you are dealing with crumbs anywhere you go..maybe different this year with the economy..Xmas is a big kids holiday and no one wants to eat at 9pm.
Plantation House has a kids menu and is owned by the same restaurant group as Beach House in Kauai..
Hula or Kimo's are good alternatives.

I haven't been there, so this is not exactly a recommendation, but because it's new, you might want to look into the restaurant that replaced the Rusty Harpoon in Whaler's Village. I don't remember the name, but one person on here ate there shortly after it opened and said it was quite good.
